Activated carbon filter tips
Keeps the draw open all the way down.
Activated carbon filter tips from Hybrid, in the two widths that matter. The 6.4 mm fits a slim paper. The 8.2 mm is wider and suits a regular or a king size. Both are filled with activated carbon, and both keep the draw open to the end, where a cheap filter clogs halfway.
A filter does two jobs. It gives you something firm to hold, and the carbon catches part of what you would otherwise taste. A plain card tip, like RAW Tips in a box of 50 booklets, only does the first job.
Which width. If you roll slim, take the 6.4 mm. If a filter sits loose in your paper, you need the 8.2 mm. If you are not sure, buy one pack of each and keep the one that fits.
Both ship from Spain with the rest of your order and reach most of the EU in 2 to 4 days.

Hybrid filter tips, 8.2 mm
8.2mm, the wider of the two. Activated carbon, and the draw stays open rather than closing up halfway.

6.4 mm or 8.2 mm: pick the width first
Filter tips come in widths, and the right one is the one that fits your paper. 6.4 mm is the slim size, for slim and king size slim papers. 8.2 mm is the wider size, for regular and king size papers and for anyone who likes a more open draw.
The test is simple: if a filter rattles in your paper, go wider. If you have to squash it in, go slimmer.
| Filter | Width | Per box | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hybrid slim 6.4 mm | 6.4 mm | 55 | Slim and king size slim papers |
| Hybrid 8.2 mm | 8.2 mm | 44 | Regular and king size papers |
What activated carbon filter tips do
Activated carbon is charcoal treated to be full of tiny pores. Air passes through, and part of what you would otherwise taste stays in the carbon. Hybrid uses coconut carbon.
A plain card tip gives you something firm to hold and nothing else. A carbon tip does that job and filters too.
Why Hybrid filters do not clog
Cheap carbon filters pack loose granules that settle and block the draw halfway. Hybrid packs its coconut carbon with cellulose, which holds the carbon in place, so the draw stays open from the first pull to the last. Hybrid developed them in Austria; the line is called Supreme.
Hybrid and other carbon filters
Most carbon filters in Europe come in the same two widths, so a 6.4 mm Hybrid replaces any slim carbon filter you use now. The difference is the filling: carbon held in cellulose, rather than loose. If your current filters close up before the end, that is the reason to switch.
